Essence Liquid Eyeliner- Waterproof

Hey guys and welcome back.
Today I have one of my favourite eyeliners to review for you.
 Essence Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
This was one of the first liquid eyeliners that I bought when I was switching from kohl to something a bit more black. I've repurchased this more times than I can count and I use this one over my more 'high-end' eyeliners the majority of the time.
It was with this eyeliner that I learnt how to do a cat eye and actually get a nice straight line.
The tip just made it so easy.

The tip  is a flock applicator- basically a spongy material, and it's also slightly curved so it hugs the lash line-
no annoying gap between the lashes with this one.
Its also very highly pigmented, not a very dark grey colour like others I've tried, and it sets matte.

Drying time is also very quick as well so you won't have to keep your eye's closed for ages to stop it transferring.
I haven't noticed any flaking with this eyeliner either but that's not usually a problem i would have anyway.
For less than 4 Euro your getting an amazing product.
I would definitely recommend this eyeliner, the price and the results are just unbeatable.
Have you tried this eyeliner? What did you think?

Everyday unicorn dresses up with Fanny Crown

Hey guys and welcome back.
So, so far everything on the blog has been beauty related but I'm going to try a fashion post.
Now I'm not by any means fashionable at all.
I live in leggings and hoodies, although I have been getting out of my comfort zone with dresses when the
weathers nice, but that's about it really.
So I was emailed about a week ago by Fanny Crown ,to enter a competition which I think runs every
month on their website.I was a bit hesitant a first but I thought I'd give it a go and break up the routine a little
on my blog. I checked out their website and was a bit overwhelmed really. They had such an array of styles to choose from that i didn't really know where to start. I made my way over to the Cocktail dresses and fell in love with so many.
I prefer my dresses to have sleeves of some sort as I don't like to show off my arms and they had so many styles with sleeves here, I was delighted.
This is the dress I chose:

I have a wedding coming up and if i had the money I would actually buy this dress.
It's priced at 159 Euro, but I don't think this style would go out of fashion as it's just so elegant so it would
be one I could wear quite a few times.
It's just so different to anything I would find on the high street so I would know for sure that someone at the
wedding wouldn't have the same dress as me. This has happened on more than one ocassion.
I love the way that it's fitted at the waist and then flares out a little. This is just so flattering on any shape.
the embellishment is just so pretty as well. It's quite delicate but interesting at the same time.

I would pair it with nude peep-toe shoes from Primark:
These are so comfortable and that's always important for weddings as you spend so much time on your feet
dancing. Well I do anyway.
They are also quite summery as the have the peep toe and I would do my toes with the same colour as my fingernails.

My makeup would be a gold smoky eye:
Using MUA's Undress Me Too palette and Essence's liquid eyeliner.
It's my go-to understated smoky eye and the gold makes blue eyes blue-er.
I would probably wear a pair of fake eyelashes to up the drama just a little bit.

MAC Magenta lipliner on the lips.
This will give me a nice pop of colour as the dress is black and silver
Jewelery would be low key as the dress is so embellished so maybe a small pair of silver drop earrings like
 these ones:
Designed by Solvar for Raglan Road

Nails would be this Catrice colour in Holi Hai

So thats my attempt at putting an outfit together.
Do you think these items would go well together? Have you had any experience with Fanny crown?

MUA Undress Me too and Heaven And Earth Palettes Review

Hey guys and welcome back.
Today I have another eye shadow palette review for you.
Top: Undress me too
Bottom: Heaven and Earth
These have been out now for a good while but I've only recently got them and I'm really enjoying them.
Undress Me Too is the one I've probably used most of.
It has a mixture of warm and cool tones which i like using together.

There are twelve shades in this palette, three of which are matte (Naked, Lavish and Corrupt) and these are the least pigmented. The shimmer shades are lovely though, not as buttery as some of my shadow palettes but still very nice. There isn't a lot of fallout with these shadows.
Top row, swatched left to right
Bottom Row, swatched left to right

The heaven and earth palette contains all shimmery shades which i don't mind to much but a matte transition colour would be handy. They are all very pigmented and fall out is minimal.

Top row L-R
Bottom row L-R
I can't find any shade names for this palette.
As you can see they are all quite shimmery but very pigmented.
The packaging for both these palettes is quite cheap feeling. I think if I dropped them it would just break apart. In saying that these palettes are priced at 6 Euro so even if they did break it wouldn't be a huge loss.
Wear time is around seven to eight hours. Without a primer they do crease slightly on me but with a primer underneath they're just fine and they blend really nicely.
I would recommend these palettes but if you are a matte lover they're probably not the best option for you.
Have you tried these palettes?Have you any recommendations from the brand for me to try out next?

Wet 'n' Wild Megalast Lipsticks

Hey guys and welcome back.
So when Wet 'n' Wild launched here in Ireland recently, I knew I was going to have to check out the lipsticks. I am obsessed with lipsticks. I love them. I want them all.
I knew from watching American beauty vloggers on youtube that the Wet 'n' Wild lipsticks were pretty damn good, so I was very much looking forward to giving them a go myself.

Thees are the three shades that I have so far and I'm getting quite a bit of use out of them too.
Some of the shades on the stand looked a little frosty though and i don't go for frosty lipsticks at all.
But the three shades I did pick up I love.
Smokin' Hot Pink
I picked this up recently and it's fast becoming my favourite shade. It's a beautiful shade of pink that really pops.
Mauve Outta Here
A  muted purple shade. For everyday wear i just blot it on the lips but its very nice built up as well.

Red Velvet.
This is one of my favourite red lipsticks that I own.
Its a tomato red which I would usually stay away from as i prefer the blue toned reds, but this is gorgeous.
L-R Smokin' Hot Pink, Mauve Outta Here, Red Velvet
The packaging.
Well, it has it's pro's and cons really. It has the lovely 'click' sound when you close it, but no matter how careful i am I always seem to nick the lipstick with the lid. Its nothing major but the lipstick doesn't retract fully into the tube like the majority of them and I end up with a lipstick that's missing a few chunks.
Anyone else have this problem?
The pigmentation on these is very good. they are true to colour from the bullet.
They do go on quite dry however so i prep my lips before hand with olive oil and sugar or an old toothbrush.
They have a satin finish but i would usually get around three to four hours before I'd have to reapply.
The shape of these lipsticks don't give me a very precise application. They are very rounded with no real point so outlining the cupids bow takes a bit of patience, for me anyway. I usually just use a lip brush to outline my shape and just top up from the bullet.
I do, however, really like these lipsticks and will no doubt be picking up a few more.
Have you tried these? What did you think.

Catrice Nail Polish

Hey guys and welcome back.
Todays post is about these lovely nail polishes from one of my favourite brands.
L-R No Snow Petrol, King of Greens, Caught On The Red Carpet, Steel My Heart, Am I Blue Or Green?
Am I Blue Or Green? On the nail wheel and bottle it kept coming up very washed out.Silly camera.
The rest are true to colour.
I have quite a few shades in these as you can see.
But then there are 46 different shades to chose from, as well as the limited edition ones so your spoiled for choice really.
These retail at 2.79 Euro in Penney's as well as some chemists and for the quality of them you really can't go wrong
Two thin coats is as I need for full opacity. You could do more but two is plenty for me.

The brush is thin and flat so applying them is a breeze. Drying time about is around 5 minutes. If the layers were quite thick it could take longer.
I would advise wearing a base coat under the darker shades as they do have a tendency to stain so just be aware of that.
Lasting power is ok, I would get around two to three days with minor tip wear and around five days before they started to chip properly. That's with no topcoat.
These are really good nail polishes, maybe not as good a formula as the Essence ones, but for the colour selection I don't really mind.
Have you tried these? What did you think?

Sleek Face Contour Kit

Hey guys and welcome back.
Todays post is about the Sleek Contour kit.
Sleek Face Contour Kit in Light
This is the best contour palette I've come across yet. I was pretty happy with using my eyebrow kit from Catrice  as they had quite a taupe-greyish shade and it did work as long as you weren't to heavy handed with it. But this knocked it out of the park.
The contour shade is a lovely matte brown with no red or orange undertones so perfect for fair skin. It blends so nicely with anything else that I've on my face and it's easily buildable so you can go for as strong a contour as you like.
Swatched
The highlighter in this palette is one of the most luminous i have ever tried. It's beautiful but a little goes along way as it is so pigmented and shimmery. I love this on my brow bone and i find it compliments the contour shade quite well on top of the cheek bone. Its champagne toned and it goes lovely with my fair skin.
For 7.99 Euro its a brilliant product. The pigmentation and blendability (?) is one of the best I've found.
The packaging is very good as well. There's a very decent sized mirror and it has that satisfying 'click' when it closes. It's actually a little hard to open so you can throw it in your bag with no fear of it opening up again.
I love Sleek Makeup as a whole because they cater for all skin tones, from the very fair to to very dark, which isn't something you see a lot in the majority of drugstore makeup.
I'm hoping to try out some of their eyeshadow palettes soon to see if the quality is the same across the board.
You can find it on Boots.ie
Have you Tried this? What should I try next from Sleek?

Booktube-a-thon 2014

Hey guys and welcome back.
So after seeing that Nurse Fancy Pants Here and Behind Green Eyes Here were doing Booktube-a-thon I thought I'd give it a go as well. If you haven't checked out their blogs, you need to-seriously.

A couple of years ago all I did was read books. I much rathered curling up and getting lost in a book than sticking on a DVD on or watching tv but then i just got a bit lazy and kind of fell out of love with books. So that's why I'm giving this ago.
It's about halfway through the challenge now and I think i'm keeping up to speed with it ok.
What I've read so far:
For the 'Start and finish a series' I chose:
The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins
I had started to read this After i seen the first film and bought them but then I thought it would be easier to just watch the movies as they came out. I am so glad I actually took the time to read these as they give such dimension to the overall story. Don't get me wrong- the movies of the first two were very enjoyable but the details in the books just give it so much more.

For the 'Read a book with Pictures' challenge I chose:
Marilyn Monroe by Marie Clayton

I might be cheating a little bit with this one as it is mostly pictures. It's a beautiful book though and it takes you through her life in pictures with a few paragraphs beside the image telling you when and why the picture was taken. Perfect for a coffee table and the photography (all black and white) is amazing.
If you see it definitely pick it up.

Read a book with red on the cover
Read a book someone else has chosen for you.

Slash
My brother chose this for me and I'm so glad he did. I bought the book about 5 years ago and he took off with it so I'm finally getting to read it.
I was a hardcore Guns and Roses fan growing up (old not new) and I'm about halfway through this book at the minute. If everything he says he has done is true, its a miracle he's alive. This is a really good choice for anyone who liked guns and roses growing up as it goes into detail of how they formed and just how crazy they really were.

Read a book from a genre you've read least this year.

The Donegal Women By John Throne
I have yet to start on this but the cover already has me very intrigued. I was very interested in learning about the famine and hiring fairs growing up so I think I'll find this very interesting. It's a story about the authors own grandmother and everything she went through growing up and if the cover is anything to go by I think it's going to be quite harrowing. I think it's going to be one of those books that i won't be able to put down.

Read a book that's been adapted into a movie
The Shining By Steven King
This is one of those books that I've always wanted to read but could never quite buck up the courage for. I'm a total scaredy cat so even if I make it through the book I'm not sure if I'll be able to watch the movie. They're also meant to be quite different so I can't really get an indication of how scary It's actually going to be from reading the book but I'll give it a go..maybe.
Booktube-a-thon is also on twitter and youtube so check them out if you want to see what everyone else is reading. I've a list as long as my arm from what other bloggers have picked out so I definitely plan on getting back into reading this year.
